These original paintings are made with acrylic on treated hand-woven mats, locally known in the Philippines as banig. This material is traditionally used for hats, sleeping mats or bags, but Tejido uses it as his signature canvas for fine art. The beauty in the pieces emanate from the texture the mat gives, and is an excellent conversational piece for any personal space.
